 Summary

Extremely potent functional mushroom when used as a daily tonic as a varietal or in a blend or medicinal doses. It is known to work across multiple health-benefiting pathways. It has been a staple of traditional medicines in cold climates for thousands of years

The Story

Chaga is a mushroom traditionally found in colder climates growing on Birch Trees. It was a staple of northern European and Asian traditional medicine for thousands of years and carries an impressive array of powerful phytochemicals, but is probably best known as a potent immune modulator.  Contains the powerful antioxidant enzyme and free radical scavenger Superoxide dismutase {SOD} which is a key for our bodies' own ability to manage oxidative stress which can result in numerous protective benefits from; arthritis, atherosclerosis, and neurological challenges.

The melanin in Chaga not only is a natural UV protector, for the skin and eyes. It also stimulates the pineal gland to release melatonin which regulates our sleep/wake cycles. Melatonin connects us to our two sources of light, the sun and the moon which govern our rhythm of the day. Many use Chaga, and some consider it a gateway to a deeper connection outside ourselves.

Chaga contains powerful triterpene compounds that are powerful health-activated remedies and have been part of mainstream protocols for over 50 years in Russia and Asia. Chaga assists in the formation of beneficial cytokines while also reducing harmful cytokines making it a powerful adaptogenic, antibacterial, and potent tonic for immune challenges. Recent studies show positive results for patients on radiation and chemotherapy when Chaga is an adjunct supplement.

Chaga also is known to reduce inflammation and insulin resistance, modulating blood sugar levels. There is also promising evidence that the polysaccharides in Chaga function as a cholesterol-lowering adaptogen.

*Avoid When: Taking glucose injections, Penicillin, blood thinning medication, or insulin are pregnant or breastfeeding. Have a history of kidney stones due to high oxalate levels.
